Akoma Groupe warrants its Urban products to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year. Akoma Groupe may, at its choice, repair or replace any Akoma Groupe product covered by this warranty.

This warranty does not apply where items have been improperly stored or improperly installed. It does not cover the cost of removing warranted material or installing replacement material; natural variations and aging inherent in wood; normal wear and tear; or damage or defects caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, or modification. This warranty does not apply to products purchased without finish.

Akoma Groupe reserves the right to inspect claimed defective products. No returns, replacements, or repairs may be made without prior written consent. Some replacement parts may vary from those originally supplied and are subject to availability.

This warranty is the sole warranty of Akoma Groupe and is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular use. Labour charges for removal or installation of warranted material, and incidental or consequential damages, are excluded to the extent permitted by law. Akoma Groupe does not assume any other liability in connection with the sale of the product. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act or other applicable Canadian consumer law.

What is not covered

• The natural aging or darkening of wood colour, wood knots, inherent growth characteristics, or variation in wood. These are part of the beauty of nature and are not defects. There is no return or exchange for cabinets or accessories for these reasons.
• Wear and tear, or damage or defects caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, non-residential use, storage, or use in a non-controlled environment. Recommended conditions are 35%–55% humidity and 17–24°C.
• A heating vent under or in front of the cabinets.
• Any product used or installed in connection with Urban products.
• Final-sale or clearance purchases.

Special door considerations

The purchaser agrees to let doors that are warped or have panel shrinkage of 1/4 inch or less hang for one season (spring) before a replacement is requested. A door typically returns to its normal position once it has acclimated to temperature and humidity. Before requesting a replacement, confirm that the door has been installed properly.

To make a claim, contact Akoma Groupe. Write to your account manager with a description of the defect and include proof of purchase. No return, replacement, or repair will be processed without prior written consent.
