Sales Policy

How orders, payments, custom cabinetry, delivery, and warranty work at Akoma Groupe.

Last updated: September 23, 2026

This Sales Policy applies to purchases from akomagroupe.com and to orders confirmed with Akoma Groupe in Montreal, Quebec. By placing an order you agree to these terms. Consumer rights under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act are not limited by this page.

1. Products

We sell kitchen cabinetry, door collections (including Aline and Divine), accessories, and related renovation products. Many items are configured to size, finish, and collection. Catalog images are representative; grain, dye lot, and screen color can vary.

2. Pricing and taxes

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless we state otherwise. Applicable GST and Quebec QST are added at checkout or on the invoice. A quote is valid for the period written on it. We may correct obvious pricing errors before accepting an order.

3. Orders

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when payment is confirmed and we send an order confirmation. We may refuse or cancel an order if a product is unavailable, a configuration cannot be built, payment fails, or fraud checks are not satisfied.

4. Payment and identity verification

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Card details are handled by our payment provider; they are not stored on this website. After payment, we may ask you to upload two government-issued photo IDs. We may hold fulfillment, or cancel and refund, if verification is not completed. See the Privacy Policy for how those files are stored.

5. Deposits, custom work, and cancellation

Configured or made-to-order cabinetry is produced to your specification. Once production or a supplier order has started, the order is generally not cancellable and not returnable except for a manufacturing defect or our error. If we have agreed a deposit and a balance, the deposit is applied to the order and may be non-refundable after production begins. If we cancel because we cannot fulfill the order, we refund amounts you paid for the cancelled items.

6. Lead times and shipping

Lead times are estimates. Custom millwork depends on finish, volume, and supplier schedules. Risk of loss passes according to the shipping method we confirm. You are responsible for providing a correct, accessible delivery address and for being available on the agreed date.

7. Inspection and damage

Inspect cartons and cabinets on delivery. Note visible damage on the carrier slip and photograph the issue. Report concealed damage or shortages within five business days of delivery so we can open a claim. Installed goods with obvious transit damage that was not reported may be harder to replace under the carrier’s rules.

8. Returns and exchanges

  • Custom, cut, or configured cabinetry: no return except defect or our error.
  • Standard stocked accessories, if offered as returnable: unused, in original packaging, within 14 days of delivery, with proof of purchase. Return shipping may be at your cost unless we shipped the wrong item.
  • Approved returns are refunded to the original payment method after inspection.

9. Warranty

We warrant that products will materially match the confirmed specification and be free from manufacturing defects under normal residential use. The warranty does not cover installation by others, site humidity or water damage, misuse, abrasive cleaning, normal wear, or changes in wood and finish that occur with light and time. Contact us with your order number and photographs. Remedies may include repair, replacement of the affected part, or a refund of the defective item.

10. Installation

Unless a written agreement says otherwise, installation is not included. Site measure, plumbing, electrical, and countertop work remain the responsibility of your contractor. We can recommend practices; we are not the installer of record unless hired in a separate contract.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Quebec law, our liability for a product is limited to the price paid for that product. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including project delay or contractor stand-by) that we did not cause. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded, including liability for our own fault where the law forbids a waiver.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada. Courts of Quebec have jurisdiction, without limiting any right you have to bring a consumer claim in the district provided by law.
